Stakeout

According to the title search he'd done, the land in front of him belonged to Pluto Holdings Inc, which seemed to be a shell company. Despite his accidental expertise in chasing down shell companies (which had been caused by Dooley refusing to give him any other work to do for about a month straight), Daniel couldn't find anything past the third layer of the shells. That was fishy enough even without the bits of intelligence and rumors he and various other people had heard.

He'd decided he needed to do some direct observation and recon, so he'd planned to go camping in a campground near one of the roads that led into the land that might or might not be housing a Hydra base. He'd planned to go camping alone, actually, since he wasn't sure whether this really was anything to be concerned about.  It might just be a camp for nudists or some religious compound or something.

His plan to go alone had lasted approximately thirty seconds after he'd told Peggy about it.

So here they both were, enjoying a camping weekend before the weather got too cold, and he poked at the campfire with a stick while the sky tried to decide if it wanted to rain again. This reminded him a little too much of campfires in Europe, although at least he wasn't freezing his ass off right now. Or being shot at, although that might change.
